2010 SABIS® Educational Summer Camp – Bath, U.K.
The much-anticipated 2010 SABIS® Educational Summer Camp held in Bath, England finally took off! After the last minute’s cancellation of the 2009 summer camp due to the H1N1 outbreak, the camp got into full swing and proved to be an unforgettable experience for the students who participated.
Teachers and staff eagerly started arriving on July 7th to put the finishing touches on the campus preparations and weekend trip schedule. With just a few days until the camp’s kick-off, everyone worked with dedication and enthusiasm to prepare the campus for five weeks of an exciting educational and fun-filled camp.
On July 10th, with the final preparations in place, staff and teachers began welcoming students from 16 SABIS® member schools. The students spent two days getting acquainted with the school’s campus and facilities before their classes started on July 12th.
On weekdays, eager students were up for the academic program in the morning. Classes finished by 1:15pm and activities and trips filled the afternoons and evenings. Excursions were organized to shopping malls, bowling alleys, ice-skating rinks, cinemas, and historical sites. During the weekends, students went on longer trips and explored some of Britain’s most famous cities, including Cardiff, Oxford, and London. In addition to cultural and historical outings, students were also taken to amusement parks, where they enjoyed thrilling funfair rides.
Everyone involved in the SABIS® Educational Summer Camp made friends of 15 different nationalities. Students, teachers, and staff alike left Bath with memories that they will cherish for years to come. Talent shows, Friday evening barbeques, and bicycle rides around the campus will be among the many activities that the camp’s participants will recall with fondness. Students, teachers, and staff enjoyed an experience of a lifetime, and many are already looking forward to participating in the upcoming Summer Camps.
