Class of 2010 - Tree Planting
Arguably no event on the annual calendar of a SABIS® School more poignantly captures the paradoxical emotions of both loss and celebration that attend upon the graduation process than the holding of the “Tree-planting Ceremony.”
This was certainly the case at ISC Koura when on the evening of May 14, the latest batch of the school’s graduating classes gathered with administration and staff members to add yet another tree to the line of many that had been symbolically planted before them. A series of heartfelt speeches, intermingled with much reflective, humorous banter, distilled, indeed, the aforementioned paradox: the loss of inevitable parting, yet a loss vividly enlivened by the ultimate celebration of having reached such a point of hope – filled transition.
Farewell to the graduating class of 2009-2010. We wish them the best.
